James Crawford Dorough, age 73, of Chelsea, died Saturday, June 28, 2008.

Mr. Dorough graduated from Vincent High School and later served in the U.S. Navy.

He worked for the U. S. Postal Service for 30 years before retiring to enjoy years of fishing at his home on Lake Martin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Dorough; his mother, Cludie Dorough; and his brother, Lane Dorough.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sylvia Isbell Dorough; daughters Tracy Ann Dorough and Donna Dorough Strong; three beautiful grandchildren, Shelby, Sophie and James; brothers, Jurnal Dorough and Elmore Dorough; his sister, Dorothy Chance; and a host of loving family and friends.

A visitation service was held at Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m., and the funeral was held at Liberty Wednesday at 11 a.m.
