Honeycutt named Autauga Academy coach

Former Chelsea and Thompson coach, Chris Honeycutt, has been named the new head football coach at Autauga Academy, the Prattville Progress reports.

Honeycutt served two seasons as the offensive and defensive line coach at Chelsea High School in 2005 and 2006. His coaching career began with a three-year stint at his alma mater Thompson High School, where he served as head coach of the freshman team and helped coach the offensive line on varsity.

Honeycutt played four seasons for Ricky Seale on the Thompson Warriors football team before graduating in 1991. He received his bachelor’s degree and master’s from the University of Montevallo in 1995 and 2001, respectively.

Autauga Academy has appeared in the AISA Class 1A playoffs the past three years, reaching the state final in 2005
