Herman Moor

Herman Lee Moor, 73, of Shelby, passed away on July 13, 2008, at his home.
Herman was a painter and a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He was a devoted person to his family and friends. He was a NASCAR fan and dirt track fan and owner of a racecar.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ruby Moor; his wife. Lee Moor; five brothers; and four sisters.
He is survived by sons, Kenny (Lorenda) Moor and William (Brenda) Moor of Shelby; daughter, Donna Moor (Eddie) of Birmingham; sisters, Ethel (Hank) Hancock of Ft. Worth, TX and Lucille Moor of Boaz; brother, Curtis (Hazel) of Birmingham; grandchildren Donald, Chauncey and Nicholas Moor of Birmingham and Madeline Moore, Ashley and Alisha Reynolds, Jennifer (Clay) Schrader and Wendy (Shane) Smith, all of Shelby; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held at Shelby Church of God in Shelby on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 1 p.m.
Burial followed at Pierce Cemetery on Highway 280 (The old Shady Grove Cemetery). Visitation hours were Monday, July 14, 2008 at Shelby Church of God.
