I was very surprised to read the letter (07/09/08) complaining about the Montevallo Police Department and Officer Lovelady.

I am 60 years old and have lived in Montevallo a long time. Any one I have ever dealt with at the Montevallo Police Department has always been very knowledgeable and caring.

Mr. Lovelady himself was sent to my home a few years ago. He did what it took to make me feel safe again, and at a later date came back to check on me.

I feel really bad someone wasted their time writing negative comments about this department when they put their lives in harm’s way for us citizens every day that they are on duty.

I think instead of passing around negative remarks we should give them all the prayers we can send out, and a raise.
