Funeral service for Isaac “Elmer” Bird, age 88, of Harpersville was Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Harpersville Baptist Church. Burial followed at Harpersville Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Saturday, Aug. 2, from 6–8 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Bird, who passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008 at his home, was born Nov. 17, 1919 in Harpersville. He was a member of Harpersville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Inez Bird; son, Phagin (Grace) Bird; daughter, Sallie (Larry) Ray; grandchildren, Tonya (Kerry) Swain, Wendi Ray, and Daryl (Heather) Ray; great-grandchildren, Kerstin T. Swain and Parker C. Ray; step-grandson, Lee (Crystal) Pritchett; and great-granddaughter, Emily Pritchett; and a host of other family and friends.
