Gary Lee Watts, born in Michigan on Sunday, June 6, 1954, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at the age of 54.
Gary was a resident of Alabaster.
He accepted Jesus as his savior at Westend Highland Baptist Church and was of the Baptist Faith. He was an avid reader and loved to read the Bible.
He was truly an Alabama fan that loved all sports.
Survivors include his daughter, Saturday Remona Watts of Alabaster and son, Seth Watts of Sumiton; mother, Evelyn (Jimmy) Fancher of Alabaster and father, Frank Watts of Helena; brothers, Audie Wayne Watts of Homewood, Timothy Allen Watts of Alabaster and Mark Steven Watts of Helena; aunts, Louise Bentley of Texas and Shirley Townley of Trussville; uncle, Jerry Chaney of Odenville; and other family members and many friends.
The family would like to especially thank all the wonderful church members, all pastors and associates of Kingwood Assembly Church of God, Ron and Susanne Cox, Mark Sims, Wayne Bullard, Clark White and to the nifty-fifties.
Also, special thanks to all their neighbors and friends for their kindness with the prayers, visits, flowers and food. All are truly blessed.
In place of floral tributes, memorial gifts may be made to the Kingwood Church Assembly of God.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at the Fancher-Watts Home. Pastor Wayne Bullard officiated at the services.
Other services are pending with Charter Funeral Home.
