Twenty-seven people have been arrested on drug charges in Alabaster.

The arrests came after a search of a home in the 1100 block of Simsville Road and were part of a three-month investigation. Recovered from the residence were a number of firearms and a small amount of crack cocaine, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation netted 27 arrests, on 57 warrants, mostly for unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of this investigation,” said Curtis Rigney, deputy chief of the Alabaster Police Department. ” I hope this sends a message to all of those who choose to try to pollute our communities with illegal drugs.”

The Shelby County Drug Task Force, Alabaster police, Pelham police and the sheriff’s office all played a role in the investigation.
