Mrs. Ada Gertrude Cohill Powell, age 58, of Alabaster made her transition on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008.
She was a lifelong resident of Shelby County, former member of the Liberty Baptist Church Alabaster, member of the New Vision Christian Church Helena.
Her loving survivors are: devoted husband, John “Rickey” Powell; children, Jermaine Powell, Tamara Tanniehill and Melissha (Tyrice) Taylor; brothers and sisters, Jackson (Bobbie) Cohill, Jr., James Arthur (Rosie) Cohill, Sr., Johnhenry Cohill, Prillie Mae Mae (Luther) Briggins, Virginia Williams, May Frances (James) Hill and Pearlene Calhoun; and five grandchildren.
Service of Memory was held Saturday, Aug. 23 at 1 p.m. at New Vision Christian Church, with interment in the Liberty Cemetery.
Pastor Van C. Houser will officiate. The remains laid in repose on Aug. 22 from Noon until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
