Charles Edward Nicholson, age 61, of Alabaster passed away on Aug. 18, 2008.
He was born in Kentucky and lived in Alabama for the last 53 years.
He was an avid sportsman, accomplished writer and artist.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Rachel Dismukes Nicholson; father and mother, Kermit and Patsy Nicholson and a niece Kelli Nicholson.
He is also survived by his daughter, Megan Nicholson Nelson (Jeremy); grandson, Caleb Elijah Nelson; brother, George Nicholson (Wally) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Aug. 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Alabama Child Caring Foundation, P.O. Box 830870, Birmingham, Ala. 35283-0870.
