Mickey Ellison

Mickey Earl Ellison of Pelham departed this life on Aug. 22, 2008.
A native of Pelham, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Kimberly Martin Ellison, sons Matthew Wayne Ellison and Jacob Martin Ellison, parents Lucile and Wayne “Pete” Ellison, sisters Paula Sue Ellison and Beverly Anne Swanger (Terry), and brother Douglas Wayne Ellison, all of Pelham.
He also has many nieces and nephews.
For many years, Mickey and his brother owned and operated Ellison Construction Co.
Mickey loved the outdoors and spent countless hours roaming the mountains, where he was at home.
Mickey was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Davenport, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ellison.
He will be missed, but always loved and never forgotten.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brenden McGuire and the UAB Hospital Liver Transplant Unit for their loving care.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham.
The memorial service celebrating Mickey’s life was the same day at 6 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel. The Rev. Terri Martin will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
