Sarah Alice Hosey, 85, of Calera passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at her home.
She was a loving mother and grandmother known to her family as “MeMe.”
Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at Rocko Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo. Funeral service was held Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Deter presided.
She was buried at Shelby Memory Garden in Calera.
Mrs. Hosey was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Frank Wayne Hosey; daughter, Faye Ford and brother, William McGee.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Gail) Hosey of Atlanta, Babara (Peter) Judge of Australia, Jim Hosey of Calera and Vickie Lynn (Ken) Smith of Tierra Verde, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great–grandchildren.
The family offers a special thanks to friend and neighbor Gwen Thomas, to Mrs. Hosey’s caregivers Diana Bailey and Melinda Young and to New Beacon Hospice staff Gayla, Sylvia, Michelle and David.
