Two cars were burned Sunday at the apartment complex where five men were found dead last month.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., Shelby County sheriff’s deputies received a call about two vehicles on fire at Cahaba Lakes apartments, off U.S. 280.

Cahaba Valley Fire Rescue and sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and found two vehicles ablaze.

The fires were extinguished and no injuries were reported.

In total, five vehicles were damaged, either directly from the fire or the heat associated with it.

Investigators impounded the vehicles. The owners of both vehicles were residents of the apartment complex.
