Funeral service for Carl Jackson Wood Jr., 38, of Harpersville was held Sept. 14 at 2 p.m., at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel.
The Rev. T.W. Wood and the Rev. Windell Pardue officiated.
Burial followed at Harpersville Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sept. 13 from 5-8 p.m. in the chapel.
Mr. Wood, who passed away at his home Sept. 11, 2008, was a U.S. Marine and served proudly in Desert Storm.
He received six service awards and was a devoted father.
He is survived by his son, Jackson Hunter Wood of Harpersville; mother, Treasure Dobbs Wood of Harpersville; sisters, Lova Woods of Harpersville and Wanda Woods Brooks (Jeremy) of Harpersville; brother, Larry Wood of Santo, Texas; special friend, Robin Wood of Sylacauga and nieces and nephews, Marlena Wood, Devan Wood, Dreyton Wood, Maggie McGathey, Mattie McGathey and Mac McGathey.
