Funeral service for Archie Norris, age 88, of Alabaster, was Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Bolton-Letlow Chapel. Service will be officiated by Curtis Flatt and Huey Hartsell. Burial will follow at Greenhill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was one hour prior to the service at Bolton-Letlow Chapel.
Mr. Norris, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at his home, was born March 25, 1920.
He was the son of the late Robert A. and Margaret Gurganus Norris.
Mr. Norris was a member of Helena Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by one son and eight brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosa H. Norris; daughters, Jeanette (Carl) Hammer of Atlanta, Ga., Joyce Norris of Mandeville, La., Joan Knight of Hammond, La.; nine grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; four great- great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon Norris of Owensboro, Ky.; special sister-in-law, Olive Norris of Dadeville; several wonderful nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be nephews of the deceased.
