Briarwood Christian and Shelby County both moved up two spots in this week’s Class 5A Alabama Sports Writers Association football poll.

Briarwood moved from No. 9 to No. 7, while Shelby County remains behind Briarwood at No. 8, despite beating the Lions, 26-3, in week two of the season.

In Class 6A, Pelham fell from the receiving votes category after losing its second-straight game Friday, 37-7 to Vestavia.

In Class 4A, Calera is receiving votes after upsetting Bibb County, 40-22.

Shelby Academy is still receiving votes in the AISA poll.
