Shelby County’s climb toward the top continues this week, as it moves two spots to No. 4 in the Alabama Sports Writers Association football poll for Class 5A.

The Wildcats’ 55-14 win over John Carroll Friday helped them move from No. 6, while Briarwood Christian remained No. 7 in the 5A poll.

Vincent’s name was mentioned for the first time this season, receiving one vote in the 2A poll, while Montevallo and Shelby Academy fell from the receiving votes category in their respective polls.
