Lois Lewis

Lois Davis Lewis, 88, died Oct. 13, 2008. She and her husband, J.D. Lewis Sr., were the owners of Lewis’ Nursery for more than 30 years.
She was also a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church for 45 years.
Lois was best known to all who knew her as a prayer warrior. She prayed for her family and friends daily.
She always wanted the best for her family and she knew that it started with God.
She was always sharing Jesus with others, inviting people to church, and checking on you if you were not there.
Her favorite verse was Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”
Preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Jesse Davis; two sisters, Edna Hardy and Betty Henry; two brothers, Lewis and Henry Davis; her husband, John D. Lewis, Sr.; son, Jimmy Doyle Lewis, daughter, Judy Mae Lewis; daughter-in-law, Helen Foster Lewis; and special friend, Larry DeSchweinitz.
Survived by: her sister, Grace Sheffield; her brother in-law, James Hardy; her children, J.D. (Patricia) Lewis, Jr., Barbara Joan (Jim) Osborn, Jerry Donal Lewis, Jean Dale (Shirley) Lewis, Jettie Sue (Jeff) Hand; her grandchildren: Deborah Lewis (Ken) Deonigi, Donnie (Brenda) Lewis, Connie Brown (Don) Walton, Randy (Kelee) Lewis, Gerry (Angie) Lewis, Johnny (Denna) Brown, Kevin (Jennifer) Hand, Kim Lewis (Wayne) Falkner, Cindy Lewis (Paul) Deaver, Karen Lewis, Jimmy Lewis, Jeremy (Felicia) Hand, Rachel Hand, Andrew Lewis; her great-grandchildren: Derek (Carolena) Deonigi, Nicole Lewis, Danielle Deonigi, Miranda Walton (Clint) Bullock, Amber Lewis, Heather Walton, Randal Lewis, Cord Lewis, Heath Walton, Kaile Lewis, MacKenzie Deonigi, Dalton Lewis, Dakota Falkner, Mary Helen Jones, Parker Hand, Jordan Deaver, Anna Brown, Carter Hand, Maddie Grace Lewis, Tanner Falkner, Anna Lee Hand, Jacob Deaver, Ally Brown, Elizabeth Hand; and great great-grandchildren: Chloe Bullock, Isac Deonigi, Isabella Bullock.
Also, lots of nieces and nephews, her church family and many of special friends.
Funeral service was Oct. 14, 2008, at Antioch Baptist Church. Visitation was at 1 p.m. with the service to begin at 2 p.m. The service was officiated by Pastor Joe Stone.
Graveside service followed at Pinelawn Gardens. The service was officiated by Pastor Howard Brasher.
Pallbearers include: Randy Lewis, Gerry Lewis, Johnny Brown, Kevin Hand, Jimmy Lewis, and honorary pallbearer, Andrew Lewis.
