When 51,000 people converge in Indianapolis, Ind. for the nation’s largest annual youth convention, numerous activities as well as high-quality entertainment is essential to the events success.

The Montevallo FFA Chapter will be receiving a National Chapter Award, making them one of the top FFA chapters in America. Former chapter president Justin Posey will also be receiving a proficiency award in Ag Communications.

The FFA String Band of Montevallo has even been selected to be part of a group of young people nationwide to perform at the 2008 National FFA Convention Oct. 20-25.

The group submitted an audition tape, and was chosen based on quality performance, stage presence, and ability to relate to the FFA theme.

Only 60 individuals and/or groups were chosen from across the country to perform several times at the 2008 National FFA Convention. The talent program participants will perform during the main convention, at session intermissions, in the RCA Dome, in the food court, in Conseco Field House, and as entertainment during various meal functions. Talent members will also be visible at the Indianapolis Arts Garden, Farmers Market, and Convention Center activities.

The National FFA Talent Program is directed by Gary Maricle of Missouri, and is sponsored by Wrangler and Montana Silversmith as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.
