Funeral service for Robert Whitten, 66, of Wilsonville, was Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Prospect Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Union UMC Cemetery. Visitation was Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, from 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Whitten, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at a local hospital, was born on June 12, 1942 in St. Clair County. Robert was an active member of Prospect Baptist Church and served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and other offices as needed.
He retired from Baptist Medical Center Montclair after 31 years. He was a friend to many and enemy of none. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Whitten; children, Wesley (Mary) Whitten, Lisa (Glenn) Pedersen; grandchildren, Kevin, Morgan, Brittney; brothers, John Whitten, Frank Whitten, Donald Whitten, Ronald Whitten; sister, Elizabeth Hess and a host of other family and friends. Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directed.
