Senior outside hitter Lauren Tortorici of the University of Montevallo volleyball team was recently named to the ESPN The Magazine Third Team Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Tortorici has a 3.89 GPA in elementary education.

This is the first Academic All-District award for Tortorici, who prepped at Oak Mountain. Tortorici is the second Montevallo volleyball player to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team after Stephanie Taylor received the honor in 2006. She is one of four players from the state of Alabama on this year’s team.
