Football game letter was petty, senseless

Dear Editor,

This grown person’s response to a so-called “biased” report of Shelby County’s victory over Chelsea on Oct. 17, 2008, is a prime example of the pettiness that is going on in the world today.

To write an eight-paragraph letter to complain about a high school football game is senseless. Had the result of this game been different, would she have complained?

In regards to the boys’ wrong judgment and over-enthusiasm in showing support for their school, I wonder if she knew they were put in detention, immediately had that flag taken away from them and were reprimanded by all of the Shelby County fans that watched this happen. This display of poor sportsmanship by “boys” is wrong, but for a “grown” person to pen this letter is also wrong.

The players on the Shelby County team fought hard for every win they earned this year.

Please check your mirror before you complain about anything and understand these are children we are talking about. To take away from the hard work of these players is not setting a good example for all the children we love, no matter where they attend school.
