Funeral service for Lorene Falkner, age 87, of Columbiana, was held Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Chapel. Burial followed at Pine-lawn Gardens.
Visitation was from 12:30-2 p.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Falkner, who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at a local hospital, was born May 13, 1921 in Shelby.
Mrs. Falkner served as chief clerk of the Recording Department of Shelby County Probate office from 1975-1991.
Prior to being chief clerk, she and Buck Falkner owned Falkner’s Department Store for 21 years.
Mrs. Falkner was a multi-talented artist whose repertoire included oil painting, china painting and porcelain doll draping. She was also known for her wonderful gardening abilities.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Ella Juzan, brother, Rawleigh Juzan, sister, Lilla Bristow and a son, Jeff Falkner.
She is survived by her husband, Buck Falkner; son, Terry (Gayle) Falkner; daughter-in-law, Janice Falkner; 6 grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and other family and friends.
