William Gamel

William Lloyd “Bo” Gamel, born in Alabama on June 12, 1929, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at the age of 79.
He was a resident of Shelby. He served his country with love, honor and valor in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Bo was a diesel mechanic with Volvo White Trucking Company before retiring. He was a Mason with the Irondale Lodge.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and archery. Most of all he loved his family and singing.
Visitation was held at Charter Funeral Home on Nov. 14 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral Services were held at Charter Funeral Home on Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. Minister Johnye Horton officiated. Burial was in Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Shelby.
Bo was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty Gamel.
Survivors are daughters, Cathy Weathers (Wayne) of Calera, Lois Davis (Ken) of Shelby; grandsons, Bruce Weathers (Kim) of Alabaster, Brad Weathers of Greenville, Cory Weathers of Alabaster, John Eric Davis (Ashleigh) of Tuscaloosa and Kevin Davis (Tiffany) of Moundville; and four great-grandchildren.
