Funeral service for Harold D Scott, age 76, of Shelby, was held Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Bolton-Letlow Chapel. Burial followed at Shelby Garden of Rest. Visitation was Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Chapel.
Mr. Scott, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at a local hospital, was born Oct. 13, 1932 in Chilton County. He was an owner of R&S Gas Company. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Scott, two brothers, Moody Scott and Earl Scott; and one sister, Helen Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jerline Scott; three daughters, Sue (Leslie) Hope, Jane (Johnnie) Headley, and Terri (Kenny) Porter; five grandchildren, Misti (Harold) Simmons, Lil Ronnie, Robin Hope, Johnna Headley and Josh Porter; great-grandchildren, Brookelynn, Michael, and Terri Savanna; his brothers and sisters, Doris Payton, Junior Scott, PeeWee Scott, Frankie Collingsworth, Pearline Simmons, Margie Lindsay and Kathleen Gothard; other family and friends.
