Old Baker Farm was recognized as an Alabama Century and Heritage Farm at the Shelby County Farm-City Banquet on Nov. 25. Only five other farms from Shelby County have been recognized as Century and Heritage Farms.

The Old Baker Farm has been owned and operated by the Baker family for over 100 years.

Since the Century and Heritage Farm program began in 1976, the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries has recognized more than 450 farms in Alabama.
