5A lineman award goes to Erwin’s Baker

Erwin defensive end Leland Baker was named the Class 5A Lineman of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association. He beat out Briarwood end Walker May and Carver-Montgomery offensive lineman Brandon Moore.

Baker led his team in sacks with 12 on the year and 69 for his career. May finished the season with 13 sacks and 70 tackles.

All 14 winners of the Back of the Year and Lineman of the Year winners are finalist for the Mr. Football award.
