Frank Bailey

Mr. Bailey, 67, of Matthews, N.C., died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews, N.C.
His funeral service was held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5 at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel. Doug Patterson officiated. Internment with full military honors was private. The family received friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Born Oct. 29, 1941, in Birmingham, Mr. Bailey was a son of the late Robert H. Bailey and Florence Ham Bailey. He was a former U.S. Marine, having retired after 22 years of service as a Master Sergeant, E-8. Mr. Bailey served in Vietnam. He later retired from management with the U.S. Postal Service after 21 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his brothers, William “Wink” Bailey of Birmingham, Robert “Red” Bailey of Locust Fork, Ronald “Butch” Bailey of Birmingham and sisters Martha Shiflett, Norma Henley and Alyce Shaw, all of Birmingham.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McGinnis Bailey; a son, David Bailey of Newburg, N.Y.; a stepson, Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Carey Wayne Casey; a brother, Terry Bailey of Birmingham; and four sisters, Wanda Flowers of Oneonta, Julia Sprayberry of Trussville, Carolyn Leslie of Madison and Ruby Lively of Birmingham; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
