Danika Owsley of Birmingham has begun her first year at Mount Holyoke College, the oldest institution of higher education for women in the United States. The Class of 2012 includes 527 students from 37 states and 33 countries.

Owsley is the daughter of Todd and Deb Owsley of Birmingham and a graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA).
