Cahaba Valley Fire and Rescue is still investigating the cause of a blaze that damaged part of a one-story office building on Meadowlark Drive Monday morning.

Firefighters from Cahaba Valley and Birmingham Fire Station No. 32 were dispatched to 7030 Meadowlark Drive near the intersection of U.S. 280 and Alabama 119 at 3:38 a.m., according to officials.

The fire was extinguished quickly, but firefighters left the scene around 6 a.m. The building houses several businesses, including a realty company that bore the brunt of the damage, officials said.
