Funeral services for Hubert Marion Carter, age 63, of Vincent, were held Sunday Dec. 21, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel with Bro. Miles Crouch officiating.
Mr. Carter went to be with the Lord Dec. 18, 2008, at Coosa Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Carter was born and raised in Sycamore and lived most of his life in the Sylacauga area.
He was pastor of Brickstone Church of Christ in Lincoln for several years.
Mr. Carter retired from Southern Alloy Company in Sylacauga.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Connie Rowe Carter, of Vincent.
He was a proud father of three children; Joey (Ann) Carter of Sylacauga, Jamie (Rena) Carter of Sylacauga and Beth (Trant) Dees of Sylacauga.
He is also survived by brothers, Neal (Becky) Carter of Ohio, Kenneth (Ozzie) Carter of Alpine, (twin) Mitchell (Jannia) Carter of Sylacauga and Roger (Janie) Carter of Huntsville; sister, Charlotte (Raymond) Hendick of Talledega; stepson, Jayson (Kimberly) Rowe of Vincent; stepdaughter, Traci (Alan) Green of Vincent.
Mr. Carter was a loving grandfather to Bradley Carter, Lilly Carter, Jackson Carter, Michelle Carroll, Anthony Mobbs, Jared Mobbs, Madelyn Rowe, Alyssa Rowe and Brooke Green.
Mr. Carter also has five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel. Online registry at www.mem.com.
