Paul Cost

Visitation for Paul L. Cost was held Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, from 2-4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Alabaster.
A private graveside service was held on Sunday.
Mr. Cost, who passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at home, was born July 10, 1925, in Alabama.
He was a lifelong resident of Alabaster.
He served in World War II with the U.S. Merchant Marines and was a member of the Vulcan Chapter of the American Merchant Marines.
Paul was a retired truck driver, having driven for Jack Cole, J.W. Valentine, Baggett Transportation and Mercury Freight Lines.
Mr. Cost was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lois, and 3 children, Kathryn, Elizabeth and Robert.
He is survived by his children, Walter David (Ellen) Cost, Alan Cost, Margaret Dawson and Lydia Cost; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vulcan Chapter of the American Merchant Marines, c/o George Meyer, 1018 Crest Road, Leeds, Ala. 35094.
