Memorial service for Robert J. Simms age 61, of Chelsea, were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 at 6 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church.
Visitation was held 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
Bob suddenly left this walk of life on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, to be reunited with his son, Ryan Simms in heaven.
He was a loving, caring, protective husband and father of wife Deborah Simms and sons Ryan Simms and Justin Simms. He dedicated his entire life to these 3 people.
He was employed by WalMart for 12 years. Bob was born in Lebanon, Tenn. and was raised by devoted grandparents.
He lived in Winston-Salem, N.C. for 12 years and the remainder of his life in Chelsea with his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Deborah Simms and son Justin Simms.
Due to his dedication and love of animals, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Shelby County Humane Society, 301 McDow Road, Columbiana, Ala. 35051.
