Women at the Chelsea Church of God are excited about their upcoming community women’s conference scheduled for Friday and Saturday Jan. 16–17.

“We’ve sponsored an annual community women’s meeting for several years,” said church member Linda Brasher. “Then a couple of years ago we made it a two-day conference.”

“We feel that it’s time to let our light shine,” said Linda Wilkins, president of the Women’s Ministry. “People in our community need us now. They need to know God’s love is for everyone. We want to encourage people and help them to know the true nature of God. Help them to know that God is love.”

Leaders of the conference want to impress upon women the message found in Ephesians, chapter one: “From the moment you were created God had a purpose and plan for your life. A calling for you to fulfill. You have been chosen …”

They hope conference attendees will come to realize God’s unconditional love for them and come to know their true identity in Him.

“Women are the heart of the family,” said Wilkins. ”We were created to give support and be caregivers, to love always.”

Around 300 women are expected to attend the conference, Wilkins said.

Speaker will be Pam Hanes of Pam Hanes Ministries. Pam Loper will be the music leader. Times are 7 p.m. on Friday; 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Lunch will be provided at noon.

Chelsea Church of God is located at 2020 Highway 39 in Chelsea.
