Nearly a dozen youngsters in Shelby County are masters of goo-making after attending the first Fetch Science Club at the Albert L. Scott Library in Alabaster. The new club is based on the PBS television show “Fetch!” which teaches science. “Mr. Sci Guy” Brian Horne of Alabaster conducted a library lab session on Jan. 15. Mr. Sci Guy and the children discussed chemical reactions and made goo, some green and some blue, during the kick off. He later surprised them by giving each child a vial of slime with a bug inside. The young scientists also received certificates of participation, membership badges and Ashley Keel, 8, won an activity book about Ben Franklin.
