A new hotel is coming to Alabaster.

Hilton Hotels Corp. has announced the launch of a new brand of hotels designed for extended-stay, and Alabaster will be home to one of at least 10 of the new Home2 Suites.

Alabaster and Gadsden will be home two the first to Home2 Suites in Alabama, while other locations include New York City, Baltimore and Charlotte.

The new Home2 Suits will feature expanded living areas, pantries, integrated laundry facilities, continental breakfast, indoor pools, outdoor grills and a fitness room.

In order for a city’s application to be accepted, the city was required for have at least two acres for development. Each hotel is planned to be four stories with an average of 108 rooms.

Hilton is hoping to have more than 100 Home2 Suites around the nation by the end of 2012.
