Ellen Hewett passed away Feb. 2, 2009, at home with her family at age 85. She was born in Slidell, La. on Nov. 23, 1923. She was a loving, selfless person and her family will miss her deeply.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Brooks Hewett; her father, Theophile Faciane; her mother, Emma Faciane; her brothers, Paul and Wallace Faciane; and a sister, Viola Pichon.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Syd) Pickett, Barbara (Gene) Ernest, Vickie (Sam) Roberts AND Betty (Jimmy) Johnstone; son, Larry (Mary) Craddock; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
The family has requested a private family graveside service at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera. In lieu of flowers, donations be made to Concord Baptist Church Children’s Ministry Fund in Calera.
