Colleges name students to dean’s lists

Jessica C. Posey, of Alabaster has been named to Coastal Carolina University dean’s list. To qualify for the dean’s list, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. Students must also be enrolled full time.

Huntingdon recently issued a list of students enrolled in the College’s Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCP) who have achieved academic distinction. To be named to the dean’s list, an ADCP student must have achieved an overall semester grade point average of 3.8 or higher. The following students were included for the fall semester. Alabaster — Lori S. Davis and Gary E. Morrison; Calera — Mary T. Baker, Brittney L. Colley and Jacob D. Jones; Hoover — Lesa A. America, Rebecca D. Lindsay and Geoffrey A. Newbern; and Pelham —Sandra D. Knox and Kathryn E. Verner.

Mississippi College has announced its 2008 fall semester list of academic scholars, according to Dr. Ron Howard, Vice President for Academic Affairs. To be eligible for the president’s list, a student must maintain a 4.0 based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average. John Mark Kolb, of Hoover, has been named to the president’s list. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must maintain a 3.5 or better grade point average based on a 4.0 system. The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) has announced its academic honor roll for the fall 2008 term. To qualify for the presidential honors list, a student must earn a 4.0 grade point average and be classified as a full-time student registered for a minimum of eight credit hours during the quarter. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must attend school full-time and earn an overall total grade-point average of 3.6 to 3.9 on a 4.0 scale.
