Robert Lewis White, 69, of Whites Chapel went to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009.
Mr. White was a loving husband, devoted father and adoring grandfather. His love of his family and fishing were rivaled only by his love of the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Bonnie White.
Mr. White is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joanne Pilgreen White; three daughters, Tammy Crow (Lynn) Cindy Ash (Shannon) and Robbie Price (Charlie); brothers, Roland White (Judy), Kelly White (Jackie) and Clinton White; grandchildren, Brandon Crow, Christina Crow, Shellie Files and Brady Ash.
Robert was a man of few words but had a wonderful sense of humor. In the end, it’s not the end of life that counts, but the life in your years.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at 11 a.m. from Kilgroe Funeral Home-Leeds Chapel with burial at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Trussville.
Visitation was Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, from 6-8 p.m.
