Carol Hill, wife of State Rep. Mike Hill, has been appointed to the Shelby County Board of Registrars.

Hill, who was sworn in on Friday, was tapped by Gov. Bob Riley to fill the vacancy left by Jamie Crockett, who resigned in November. She will serve as chairperson of the three-member board, which oversees voter registration.

Hill is a retired schoolteacher. She and her husband, a Republican who represents District 41 in Shelby County, make their home in Columbiana.
