Pelham Panther offensive center Chris Brown signed a scholarship Friday to join his brother A.J. at Campbellsville University in Kentucky.

“(Chris) is a tremendous young man who I observed at the Auburn football camp last summer during the OL King of the Camp competition,” said Timmy Rogers, Campbellsville recruiting coordinator and linebackers coach. “Chris performed very well finishing in the Top 10 of over 300 participants.”

Rogers said Brown, who stands at 6-foot, 240 pounds, will compete for a position on the Campbellsville offensive line next season.

A.J., a sophomore offensive lineman at CU, was named a Mid-South Conference All-East Division selection in 2008 and was named to the Academic All-Conference Team.

Campbellsville finished the 2008 season 3-8 in the NAIA.

Brown plans to major in history and business to prepare for law school.

His senior year accolades include Birmingham News All-Shelby County Team, Buffalo Wild Wings’ Wild Man of the Week, Pelham football all-academic honor roll, National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Who’s Who and will graduate as salutatorian.
