Hazel Mae Bearden, 83, of Hoover died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009. She was born in Jefferson County and was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover.
Mrs. Bearden was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. T.H. Mize Sr. and Annie E. Mize; and one son, Joel Wayne Bearden.
Survivors include Mrs. Bearden’s loving husband of 65 years, the Rev. Joel Byars “J.B.” Bearden Jr.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Hilda B. Posey and her husband C.W. Posey, Jr., and Mickey B. Crowe and her husband Bennie E. Crowe Jr.; two grandchildren, Curtis Wilson Posey III and Bennie E. Crowe III; one great-grandchild, Reagan Alexis Posey; and one brother, Thomas “Tommy” Houston Mize, Jr.
The funeral service was 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, in the chapel at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover. Dr. Buddy Gray and the Rev. Chris Sullivan officiated. Burial followed in Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham.
