SEC hockey in Pelham this weekend

The inaugural Southeastern Hockey Conference Championship tournament will be Friday-Sunday, Feb. 27-March 1 at the Pelham Civic Complex.

The University of Alabama Frozen Tide, who plays its home games in Pelham, will help host the tournament, which will feature teams from eight Southeastern Conference member schools.

Seeding for Friday’s first round will be set up by teams in the SEC West vs. the SEC East. The second round on Saturday will be seeded by each team’s ranking in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

Tickets are $10 for a two-game session per day or $25 for a tournament pass.

FRIDAY

Noon – Tennessee vs. Mississippi State

3 p.m. – South Carolina vs. LSU

6:30 p.m. – Opening Ceremonies

7 p.m. – Alabama vs. Florida

10 p.m. – Arkansas vs. Gerogia

SATURDAY

Noon – The two lowest ACHA ranked losing teams will compete for 7th in the conference.

3 p.m. – The two highest ACHA ranked losing teams will compete for 5th in the conference.

7 p.m. – No. 22 ACHA ranked vs No. 3 ACHA ranked will compete for championship contentions.

10:00 p.m. – No. 1 ACHA ranked vs No. 4 ranked will compete for championship contentions.

SUNDAY

11:30 a.m. – Consolation fame for third place in the conference

2:00 p.m. – Championship game
