Rev. J.D. Davis

Funeral service for the Rev. J.D. Davis, 82, a lifetime resident of Chelsea, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Bolton-Letlow Chapel with the Rev. R.L. Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Signal Cemetery.
Visitation was Tuesday, March 10, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Davis joined his beloved wife of 56 years, Earline, in heaven Monday, March 9, 2009. He was born May 13, 1926, in Harpersville.
Mr. Davis retired after 31 years the last 16 years as maintenance foreman, with the Shelby County Highway Department. He was a radio evangelist for 16 years.
Brother Davis pastored several churches in the Shelby County area.
He was a member of The Kingdom Valley Boys and enjoyed singing and playing the harmonica.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Earline B. Davis, and sisters, Pernie Fulghum and Pauline Lester.
He is survived by his brothers, George (Evelyn) Davis, Coley (Joyce) Davis, David (Judy) Davis; sisters, Ruie Reeves, Billie Robertson and Mary (Johnny) Wallin; and other family and friends.
Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home is directing.
