Mt Laurel town officials are taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather by hosting the town’s eighth-annual Spring Festival April 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Event organizer Mary Peters said townspeople aim to show outsiders what Mt Laurel is all about.

“We’re just bringing out more people to Mt Laurel to see the new shops and churches,” she said. “For people that haven’t been to Mt Laurel in a while, we’re just bringing them back up to see what all we have.”

The festival, a rain or shine event with free admission, will feature a farmer’s market and craft fair, face painting, hay rides, inflatables for kids, tours of new homes and music by Fiddlin’ in the Parlor.

The farmer’s market is intended to give attendees a taste of the actual Mt Laurel farmer’s market, which will start up again in June, Peters said.

Snow White will also make a special appearance at the event, hosting a tea party in front of the Mt Laurel fire station.

Peters said event organizers hope to see 3,000 or more in attendance.
