William A. “Buddy” Jacobs
Wilsonville

William Jacobs passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, at the age of 67.
Born and raised in Pierce County, Ga., he left home at an early age to pursue a career in environmental protection; his travels took him as far as Cairo, Egypt.
He later settled down in Wilsonville.
He was preceded in death by his father, John A. Jacobs, and mother, Willa Mae Cason Jacobs, and son, Michael Kane Jacobs. His brothers, James Cleveland and Irvin Jacobs, and great-grandson, Kaden Abts.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Aspinwall Jacobs of Wilsonville; his children, Dene Jacobs of Montevallo, John Jacobs of Pelham, Danita Jacobs of Blythewood, S.C., Timothy Jacobs of Jasper, and Tanyon Jacobs of Birmingham. His grandchildren Cory Jacobs, Amy Abts, April Frazier, Katie Fee, Tiffany Jacobs, Darien Jacobs, Tristian Jacobs, Rebecca Fee, Chayse Jacobs; and his great-grandchildren, Kalen Abts, Colton Abts, and Kinley Abts. His sisters, Dorothy Ruth, Louise Altman, (husband Roy Altman), Linda Justice (husband Mike Justice) and Delean Thomas (husband Danny Thomas).
A memorial service in his honor will be held April 18, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Goodhope Methodist Church in Columbiana, with a reception to follow at the family home.
