At least one tornado came through Alabaster on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

A weak EF-O touched down near the intersection of Highway 31 and Alabama 119. The twister stayed on the ground for 1.82 miles, before dissipating near Highway 11 and Weatherly Subdivision.

Peak winds with the storm were between 60-70 miles per hour, according to the Weather Service.

Several roads were closed around Highway 11 due to flash flooding or downed trees and power lines. Alabaster police also reported debris in streets across the city.

The National Weather Service issued two tornado warnings for Shelby County between 6 and 7 p.m. Sunday.

The first storm, which contained the tornado, moved from Weatherly subdivision in Alabaster down Highway 11 toward Chelsea and Westover.

The second storm traveled a slightly more southern route, from Maylene to Harpersville and Vincent.
