Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Joyce Butler, 69, of Lineville will be April 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Lineville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Colquett officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Christian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Butler passed away Monday, April 27, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Bayview, but lived in Montevallo until her marriage in 1957. She and her husband, Gordon, moved to Lineville in 1963, where they lived until they relocated to Randolph County in 1983.
Mrs. Butler was a graduate of Dadeville High School (Class of 1958) and the former owner-operator of the Towne Restaurant in Lineville. She was a member of Lineville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon Butler of Lineville; two sons, Brian Butler (Susan) of Lineville and Steve Butler (Virginia) of Lynn Haven, Fla.; three grandchildren: Jeremy Butler (Abigail), BriAnna Upchurch (Jason) and Stevie Butler; two sisters, Linda Darden (Charles) of Wilton and Brenda Sisco (Ray) of Brierfield; and three brothers, Frank Edwards (Margaret) of Montevallo, Jerry Edwards and Kenneth Edwards (Barbara Ann) of Brierfield.
Her parents, Harlice P. and Ethel Lucas Edwards; plus one brother, Douglas Edwards, preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Butler, Jason Upchurch, Lesslie Edwards, Jason Edwards, Keith Edwards and Heath Edwards.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, and will last until service time on Wednesday.
