Shelby County is under a tornado watch until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The warning precedes a long line of severe thunderstorms moving into central Alabama.

The main threat with these storms will be strong winds and large hail, although isolated tornadoes are possible.

The severe weather threat will slowly push southeast through the afternoon and evening.
