Jimmy Lee Carter, age 69, of Alabaster, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, while at home surrounded by his family.
Jimmy was a long-time member of Kingwood Church. He worked most all of his working career as a contractor, most recently working for HPH Properties. Hunting and fishing brought him great joy.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Carter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Connie Carter; his mother, Esther Carter; his daughters, Kristi Parker (Clark) and April Cobb (Bryan); his brother, Jerry Carter (Jackie); his sisters, Patricia Green (Jimmy) and Debra Franks (Barry); his grandchildren, Kristina Parker, Victoria Parker, Grayson Parker, Jakob Cobb and Ashton Cobb; and many nieces, nephews and loving family members.
Jimmy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009, at Kingwood Church in Alabaster with Pastor Danny Duvall, Pastor Mark Sims and Pastor Ron Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Elliotsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m.
