Kids clothing takes over house parties

We have all heard of Tupperware house parties and know they hold the stigma of being from your mother’s era.

For our generation, the new house party of craze is one of a whole different sorts.

Kelly’s Kids is one of the largest home–party companies specializing in children’s apparel,” said Whitney Staggs, a Kelly’s Kids representative serving cities like Hoover, Homewood, Pelham, Helena, Trussville, Mountain Brook, Vestavia and even Tuscaloosa.

While Staggs claims her full–time job is being a mother of two (with one on the way), she also works part–time as a nurse at Children’s Hospital.

I met Staggs while she was working her Kelly’s Kids booth at the Buck Creek Festival in Helena. This was just one of many special appearances Staggs has planned to meet clientele for Kelly’s Kids.

“I am a fairly new sales rep, so I am always looking for new hostesses and customers. I have attended such events as the fall festival at Helena Intermediate School and the spring fling at Helena Elementary School,” said Staggs.

With two selling seasons –– spring/summer and fall/winter, Staggs becomes busy during the season changes. During the fall/winter season, Staggs held 15 parties in three weeks. Each party has around eight to 15 guests, with the average purchase being around $100.

Because Kelly’s Kids focuses on providing unique, high quality, classic clothing for the entire family to mix and match, many customers become addicted to the line.

“I love for my children to match,” Staggs said. “That is very hard to do if you shop in a department store. Since the clothes are durable and the styles and fabrics are timeless, they can be passed down to your next child and still look great. The clothes even have resale value, because anyone who has ever bought the clothing knows the quality is unbeatable.”

With the summer season upon us, Staggs foresees many parties for her future. The hot–ticket item for this season –– seersucker bathing suits, a timeless classic.

Staggs honestly admits her favorite part about being a rep is not only meeting people, but getting the discount on the clothing for her own kids who can almost always be found in Kelly’s Kids fashions.
